KAM-BABS Promotions is a venture collaboration between KAM Music Publishing & Bay Area Band Source. KAM-BABS organizes and promotes both benefit concerts and indepentant artist shows in the Tampa Bay area.
The partnership between the two came about in late 2010 when Sarasota music & circus promoter, Mario Vitali, contacted Keith Wilkins to see if he could book national recording artist & actress, Julie Gribble, for a show somewhere in the Tampa Bay area. At the time, Gribble was touring the U.S. on her "Letting Go" tour, and needed to fill a spot in the Tampa Bay area. Wilkins then contacted Dina mead (who was booking for the Banana Boat Too in Clearwater at the time) to see about getting Gribble a show at the Banana Boat Too. This was the beginning of KAM-BABS Promotions.
Following the Julie Gribble show that took place on February 27th, 2011, KAM-BABS would continue on to organize and promote several Benefit shows, awards shows, and showcases, as well as other independent shows for countless musicians and bands throughout the Tampa Bay area.g
KAM-BABS promotions' second major event was the "2011 KAM-BABS Sexiest Musicians of Tampa Bay Awards Show Ceremony", which started from a competition that Keith held in his Examiner column. The day long event was held on July 24th, 2011 at the Silver Dollar Lounge in Tampa. The event featured an awards show ceremony along with performances by 10 bands including: Wikkid, Sobriety X, Midnight Rush, Diamond Gray, Twisted Logic, Third Story Basement, Scream Machine, Constance, Triple Threat, and Black Rose. The event was broadcasted on Black Pearl Rock Radio and sponsored in part by The St. Petersburg Live Music Bar Scene Examiner Column, KAM Music Publishing, Bay Area Band Source, and WhereWillWeGoTonight.com. Vendors included Spawn Guitars, The Bay Buzz, & WhereWillWeGoTonight.com.
Their third event was the day & night long benefit concert called WILDSTOCK. WILDSTOCK took place outdoors on the 7 acre property of Elmira's Wildlife Sanctuary in Wimauma, Florida on October 23rd, 2011. The event was an all-ages event with all the proceeds going to help the Sanctuary. 7 bands performed at the concert including: Higher Ground, ReCoil, Twisted Logic, Midnight Rush, Mayhem Junkies, Rare Phorm, and KOLE headlining the concert. Like most of KAM-BABS Promotions events, the concert was broadcasted on Black Pearl Rock Radio and sponsored in part by The St. Petersburg Live Music Bar Scene Examiner Column, KAM Music Publishing, Bay Area Band Source, and WhereWillWeGoTonight.com.
From their, KAM-BABS went on to do such shows as the "Cause for the Paws" benefit show, and the weekend long "AMPD" showcase, as well as promote weekly shows at the Radio Bar and Grill in Tampa.
* KAM-BABS Promotions is not a talent or booking agency, and does not manage or represent bands or artists in any way. Keith Wilkins and Dina Mead are consultants to bars who are looking to ad live music entertainment to their respective establishments, advising them on how to market and promote themselves in the music scene as a live music venue, as well as how to compensate musicians and bands. Dina Mead is and has been employed independently by various music venues as their "Entertainment Coordinater" to book bands and artists for their respective venues through KAM-BABS Promotions. Any and all bookings done through KAM-BABS Promotions for venues on a regular basis is done so due to this employment status.
